I remember there was this one time... Back in my youth, before the City Council of Liverpool went into their opposing flyposter related culture stance, the streets were awash with all kinds of posters, mainly for musical events. Myself i had a job in a very musical venue collecting glasses, i witnessed all kinds of live performances. After a while me and my right hand man branched out into the flyposting game promoting events freelance, pasting left right and centre. Often if the bands or club promoters acted like wankers we'd just put five posters up and throw the rest in a bin. This was when i first started to pick up tips from the older school posterers like what the best times of day were and how to not look like you're doing what you're doing.
